We return appointment with the testing of tablets, and today we see the review of the maple icon Tab W500. This tablet, one tablet with Windows in the range of the image (except for the icon Tablet Dual we reviewed), is passed to the media because the accessory sold in bundles: a QWERTY keyboard with a dock that adds to the W500 also has 2 USB ports and an Ethernet port for network cable. If you are thinking of comparing the Eee Pad Transformer W500 with this there are three different techniques: the first is that the tablet Asus Android 3.0 and the W500 has Windows 7. This difference is crucial in the choice: if you are looking for a tablet but the need for a netbook you agree that the W500 is transformed into a real laptop with Windows applications and performance a little less than a netbook mainstream. The second difference between the two models is in the dock / keyboard. Asus has thought to put a battery in the dock, which doubles the battery and allows you to charge your tablet when you deliver. Acer, however, opted to reduce the weight of the dock, past performance is only used for keyboard and additional ports. The final difference between the two models is always in the dock, particularly in the hooking system. The Eee Pad closes like a netbook, with the hinge that rotates like a book. The W500, however, “dock” inserted into a slot and can not orient the screen.
Stylus Wacom Bamboo, the stylus for capacitive touch screens, has arrived in Italy and we offer you the gallery of this useful accessory. A little shorter than a ballpoint pen and Stylus is made of metal, although it is fairly light, a sense of solidity. At the time we tried it briefly with the touchscreen of the iPhone and LG 4 Optimus Black and operation is perfect without film screen protector with the film: although the manual specifies that you may have problems, the stylus had no problems. A short test with the tablet and we will know the actual usefulness of this device in everyday life. Continue reading →

Let’s go back to talk about that seem netbook with WebOS closer thanks to some information unearthed online. With an announcement of Google ChromeBook the market seems ready to go in the direction of light netbook, similar to the old terminal / client and increasingly dependent on cloud computing. Information on the netbook webOS are few but enough to confirm that such a device exists: it is known fact that there is an object with 1024 x 768 screen, with a QWERTY “does not slide. Sure, you may also be a new tablet with an image attachment type or W500 Eee Transformer Pad but we already know that HP wants to / from landing on the Palm computer. Personally I think the philosophy of equipping netbook with lightweight systems and make them embrace the philosophy of “cloud” is a good idea but the obstacles of the need to connect often, even through mobile network, at the door, especially when you consider the infrastructure and Italian operators. What do you think?

Acer and Asus, however, confirmed the update icon and Tab A500 Eee Pad Transformer. Android 1.3 will arrive in June for these models: if the choice will depend on your tablet from Android 3.1, therefore, take into considerations that will be available for the Eee Pad Icon!
